It is a challenge for many zoos to feed enough browse throughout the year to their browsing animals such as giraffes and okapis. These animals need browse because it contains the right amount of fibre in the right proportions, an essential part of the diet. Dried leaves are an ideal solution for this. We can keep it in stock all year round. Because the leaf is dried, it does not need to be stored in the freezer or refrigerator, which also makes storage a lot easier. In order to offer a varied diet, we have various types of leaf available:
- Birch leaf
- Blackberry leaf
- Walnut leaf
- Raspberry leaf
- Hazelnut leaf
The acceptance of these different species varies from animal to animal, so it is really a matter of trial and error. These products are available in large bags of 10 to 20 kg.
